After the World Summit of Information Society held in December 2003 in Geneva, the choice of this city for the creation and headquarters of the new non-profit and Non Governmental Organization (NGO) seemed obvious to its founders. Geneva is an international city, a home for several International Organisations such as the International Union of Telecommunication, Non-Governmental Organizations belonging to the humanitarian field as well as the communication department of several multinational firms. The aim of the Foundation is to work for a local and sustainable development, as well as for the transfer of knowledge and competence.
